![]() Gee whiz, (Mr.G whiz!) I'd love 2 C that on the brite ti finish. You know, I noticed the MRG-G1000B (gunmetal gray finish) has RED lettering on the bezel, and a GOLD crown. I was ready to return this, and you all have helped me out immensely. ![]() and I will have this beautiful timepiece that I've wanted for a few years now. it's fantastic!! All I have to do now is get the clasp tudda middle of the bracelet by swapping out some links from one side 2 the other. I set the time, performed an alignment of all the hands. I was afraid someone had left it inna sun and MELTED that little plastic 'thingy'. Let me emphasize, it was SOOOO GD TITE that even after I was able to loosen the crown a few 1/8 turns w/the pliers, it took an additional CC motion w/pliers to get it loose enough to unscrew by hand. The crown was SO GD tite that I hadda use a sliver of cardboard (to protect the stem) and a needle nose pliers. Thank you all fudda kind words, and the technical info. OK, you have all been greatly helpful - I am very encouraged and so glad to know that the crown itself isn't busted - just frozen. This is particularly important for me cause I wear all my watches on the inside of my wrist. Only thing I'm bummed about (besides the obvious) is the person who sized the bracelet didn't remove links evenly from both sides, so the clasp is badly off-center, nearly spilling off my wrist like the edge of a waterfall. I also appreciate the comment about the cost of a crown replacement. It was so low on power when it arrived that it took a day of sun just to get the second hand to stop leaping 2 secsīut I can't IMAGINE someone making the crown so GD tight. as long as I can get it loose! LOL) I'm wearing it right now, even though it's still on Japan time, because it feels SO LIGHT and comfortable. Maybe it was dropped directly on the crown.Īlrite 1st thing - this is GREAT NEWS!! (i think. I mean, I guess it almost doesn't make a difference cause however it's mounted, this one just doesn't work. So yeah if you could just confirm that a MRG-G1000 crown, when screwed down, is low & tight w/no play, I'd appreciate that. And sure enough, when I went back and started the return process, this listing was marked as 'Discontinued - lost or broken', NOT sold.Īnd of course "Seller does not accept returns". There were a few negative reviews on this eic_rm, just more or less said "total scam, stay away'. I have a GWG-1000 which I love, and when that's screwed down, it's buttoned-up tight, as you would expect.Īhhh what a bummer. but not able to be moved or manipulated in any other way. ![]() It's cool looking, and VERY comfortable built in 'light-is-right' titanium.īut unless I'm mistaken it's broken cause the crown is wobbly rocks back and forth a little. Bright titanium, black bezel, red & gold highlights. It also doesn't tighten, and will not pull out at all to a 1st or 2nd position.Īnd this is a bummer cause I have wanted this exact style since I first saw it years ago, and even the bracelet is sized perfectly. I put a paper towel on the knurl and really tried to loosen it (towards me, counter-clockwise, lefty-loosey, etc) and it's NOT MOVING. Yeah, a non-working crown! What customer's gonna spot that right? Ha. I just want to be sure some idiot neanderthal didn't tighten it w/a pair of pliers, fer chrissakes. I just want to make sure it's broken before I return it. When it's closed and water tight, how is it supposed to feel? Solid and no play whatsoever? Like every other waterproof watch w/a screw-down crown that I own? Or does it have some kind of cush mount where it rocks a little bit even when tightened?īecause this crown (eBay sale, seller 'eic_rm', 98.2% pos fdbk, 3,600 items sold) is wobbly, like it's mounted on a rubber bushing or something. I have a question about the locking crown of the MRG-G1000's.
